TIme to update the site once more- so a few new links for you to visit- or perhaps I should say a mix of old and new- as some of our favourites have moved location... e.g. www.episcopalchaplain.org http://www.frtommylane.com/homilies/funerals.htm and more to come! miércoles, agosto 04, 2004
Another recent post- 'Hello, Taking another funeral this week, but first suicide. Unable to open anything about liturgy or funeral resources on this subject. this made me realize that all my lnks to suicide services have gone- where are the good ones now...?. please send in good suggestions- or even better -some good examples for us to host...
Recently sent the following email- thought I'd give it some air space... Dear Chaplain: WomenStories has produced a series of videos for women newly diagnosed with breast cancer. Each video is a collage of survivors' stories that offer support, encouragement and advice. Our mission is to get these videos into the hands of women who need them.We know that the work of a hospital chaplain is not easy, trying to comfort the sick who need hope as much as medical care. WomenStories videos are an invaluable resource, another way to counsel and support patients with breast cancer. As these two excerpts demonstrate, their faith has helped many of the women in our series deal with the challenges of breast cancer The tapes are $20 each. If any organization cannot pay for the tapes, all we ask is that they cover the shipping charges of $3.00 per tape. Please keep in mind that we are a not-for-profit organization, dependent on grants and donations and any contribution you can make will go into production and distribution of this video series. Hospital chaplains can order on-line at www.womenstories.org or let us know which tapes they would like by calling 716 873-3689, toll free 800 775-5790 or by fax 716 873-5361. You can read many favorable reviews from the medical community and learn more about the videos at our Web site www.womenstories.org.Sincerely,Lorna LippesWomenStories Information Specialist martes, abril 06, 2004
New year- new resolution. This time, I will use this blog, and will get the site improved. 1. If anyone wants to sponsor the site- let me know! 2. A key update is now on for UK users. The College of Healthcare Chaplains now lives here, with an improved site- even though I am called Rev'd Dr. at present (minor oversight- either the webmaster for making me Rev'd or me for not getting ordained). 3. People have sent in a hundered or so links for me to include, such as the canadian link to The Ontario Multifaith Council and when I get the site a bit more sorted, they will go on. The problem was...... I accidentally uploaded the draft site- which looks nice- but is not complete. better get to work, simon miércoles, abril 30, 2003
There has been a lot of development time put into the site- and so far about twenty new pages exist... all in the new format. I am also grateful for all those who have sent suggestions in in recent weeks lunes, marzo 03, 2003
unlikely to get much development time this week-which is a shame- as there are dozens of new links to add to the site. A colleague has just posted an interesting article about restricting information for visiting clergy in the US. This is of interest to those working in the UK because of the fun and games we have had in recent months with different Trusts trying to work with the bizzare interpretation of the Data Protection Act currently in force- which not only restricts such information to visiting clergy but also to the chaplains on the Trust staff team! Thanks for sending this Tony. lunes, febrero 24, 2003
long time no blog!- have now got the technology to rebuild the site- and have posted a dummy version for you to look at and comment on- thanks for the feedback so far. Much time has been spent getting to grips with becoming editor of the Journal of Healthcare Chaplaincy (UK based), and I am now open to submission of articles from anyone who feels they have an article in them! I am also drawing together an editorial team- so am on the lookout for individuals with a particular specialst viewpoint they might bring. |
